Project Doncaster Biscuit Bake Off

PROJECT DONCASTER BISCUIT BAKE OFF!!

On Wednesday February 1 teams of pupils aged between 6 and 11 from schools across Doncaster were challenged to design and bake biscuits.

All the schools are part of a network of schools called Project Doncaster who are working together to further develop and enhance the learning and development of pupils and staff in their schools. The schools involved are Barnbrugh Primary, Copley Junior, Kirk Sandall Infant, Mexborough Highwoods Primary, Our Lady of Mount Carmel Primary, Richmond Hill Primary and Townfield Primary School.

This event was one of a series of inter-school project s and competitions and was hosted by Kirk Sandall Infant School. All the schools engaged in a design and make competition in their own schools and the winners then took part in the final challenge.

Adrian Pickersgill (Schools Catering) judged the competition and awarded certificates and prizes to the winning Key Stage 1 and 2 pupils. The winners of the Key Stage 1 challenge were from Townfield Primary School and Barnbrugh Primary and  the winners of the Key Stage 2 challenge were from Copley Junior School and Mexborough Highwoods Primary School. The children participated really well in the competition and their biscuit designs were absolutely fantastic!

We are hoping that the cooks in each of the winning schools will be able to produce  their recipes for all the children as part of a school meal very soon!!
