Playground rules state that children should not climb on the benches, make all children aware of these rules.

Make the bench area a quiet area where children sit quietly and there is no running in the immediate vicinity of the benches.

All staff to be extra vigilant to ensure that children are not climbing on the benches.

If child falls and has only minor injuries they are taken to the nearest adult and if necessary taken inside by another child or member of staff

If child falls and has a more serious injury another child will come and find the nearest adult on the playground who will then go and assess the situation, sending inside for help if necessary.  Any child with a suspected fracture will not be moved.
