Goodbye
At the end of this term we will be saying good-bye to Mrs Deeney who will be retiring. She has been a teacher at our school for 25 years and has made a fantastic contribution to the education of numerous children. We shall miss her, however we wish her a happy and restful retirement!
Mrs Dakin, one of our lunchtime supervisors, is also retiring and wish her too all the best in her new life of leisure!
Summer Fayre
You will all be aware by now that a joint PTA group with the Junior School have planned a Summer Fayre on Saturday 17th July which promises to be another fantastic day! This event was a great success last year and we are looking forward to you all joining us again to enjoy the fun!.
The group are working extremely hard preparing for the day and still need additional support on the day if anyone can offer even a small amount of time.
We are going to be selling second hand uniforms at the fayre. Could you please bring any clean uniform that ia in good condition and give it to your class teacher.
Some parents are now meeting regularly on our site preparing the items for stalls etc. If anyone would like to get involved you are most welcome. Please give your name to your child’s class teacher or myself and someone from the PTA will contact you.
We have had a very successful Poster competition and the standard of the entries was excellent. Daniel Howe in Class 8 was selected by the staff in The BEAK as the winner. The poster has been reproduced to be displayed around the area however we will display the other entries around our site.
Thank You
The PTA have had a very successful year and we are grateful to all the parents and friends who give their time so willingly. Thanks to their efforts and to the fantastic support we get from all of you at our events the PTA has been able to donate £450.00 to subsidise the educational visits for all the children and £ 3,000 towards the new Outdoor Pavilion we are having erected in the orchard area at the front of the school to further enhance our outdoor learning.
The PTA have also secured a successful bid and we have used the money to purchase some additional equipment for the tyre park area.
